The CYWater 2022 Young Scientist Best Paper Award goes to Shulei Zhang, for “Reconciling disagreement on global river flood changes in a warming climate,” published in Nature Climate Change. Selected from 39 applications — the largest pool to date — Shulei receives a CYWater Award certificate and a $200 cash prize.
The Committee also recognizes two Outstanding Papers:
- Xueying Li — “Climate change threatens terrestrial water storage over the Tibetan Plateau,” Nature Climate Change.
- Yue Qin — “Snowmelt risk telecouplings for irrigated agriculture,” Nature Climate Change.
